About Us
The Story - a home away from home
Mountain Rest was launch in 2019 with a heart for hospitality and accessibility. The business began with a tourism focus but moved to meet temporary housing needs during Covid in 2020.
We aim to provide a tailored accommodation solution where guests feel welcomed, loved, valued and safe. A home away from home.
Medium Term Accommodation
Mountain Rest is a 5 bedroom self-catering dwelling set on a private block with large native gardens and views up to Mt Dandenong Ranges.
We offer accommodation for up to 10 guests in two interconnecting spaces.
The 'Retreat' caters for up to 8 guests and the 'Studio' caters for up to 2 guests.
Our medium term accommodation solution suits guests requiring temporary housing. We cater for NDIS participants, clients waiting for suitable long-term housing, guests completing insurance repairs to their home or house modifications. We offer a minimum stay of 4 weeks up to 3 months, with the flexibility to extend.

Mountain Rest is proud to offer accommodation that is inclusive of everyone with accessible and wheelchair friendly spaces that are practical,
spacious and stylish.
Newly renovated the property offers accessible parking, step-free entrance and
large clutter free living spaces for wheelchairs and mobility aids.
Two bedrooms have wide doorways and can cater for hospital beds and hoists.
The large main bathroom offers a raised toilet seat, grab rails and roll-in shower. The bamboo vanity adds a luxurious touch while being practical with its knee/toe clearance for accessibility.
