Mountain Rest Accommodation is proud to offer accommodation that is inclusive of everyone with accessible and wheelchair friendly spaces that are spacious and stylish.  
 

Entrance: We offer continuous accessible paths to and from the Retreat for uninterrupted wheelchair travel. The pathway to the main entrance is concrete with no stairs or steps. There is a slope down towards the entrance. The main entrance is accessible and clear of tripping hazards. A Raven’s Threshold Ramp has been installed for slip resistance. 

Living Spaces:  There is clear and level access throughout he Retreat. Our open plan living spaces are clutter free with circulation clearance for wheelchairs and mobility aids.  The hallway is 1200mm wide to access main bathroom and accessible bedrooms.

Main Bathroom:  The Retreat comes complete with accessible bathroom and additional powder room. The large main bathroom complies with accessible building standards and provides large turning circle for equipment. The bamboo vanity adds a touch of luxury while being practical with knee/toe clearance and pin lever tap. The roll-in shower is complete with grab rails, slip resistance seat and extra long hand-held shower rose.

Bedrooms: There is clear and level access to 3 bedrooms, 2 with wide doorways, 1 with standard doorway which suits most wheelchairs and can fit large hospital bed and hoist. Bedroom furniture can be tailored to suit guest requirements. 

Outdoors: There is clear and level access to and around the outdoor deck. The gardens feature a hard gravel path that slopes upwards towards the top level for views of Mt Dandenong. The path is 1200mm wide.
